Trying to RelaxDid you ever have a time, maybe hours or even days where you just don’t feel right?  I mean you know how you feel when you feel great but it’s just not there for you now.  You feel out of sorts.  Physically you feel tired, sluggish and unmotivated.  Mentally you just can’t quite grasp the excitement you feel when your mind is sparking and you are having great ideas.

Most of us get that blah feeling from time to time and we can’t seem to shake it.  Here are 5 simple, easy things you can do to feel better almost instantly.

1) Get several bottles of good water, and begin drinking lots of water.  Try to think of the water flushing out the impurities, toxins and wastes and how your body is being re-hydrated.  See if you can drink several 8 once glasses or 6 or more individual bottles through the day. Don’t substitute other beverages for the water.

2) Take a Shower or bath and use a loofah or gentle scrubber to exfoliate along with a pure hyper allergenic natural body wash with the scent of citrus or lavender.  Along with showering, shave or wash your hair; the objective is to feel really fresh.

3) Reduce the size of your meals for the day and eat the freshest and tastiest meals you can.  Avoid starches and stick to fruits veggies and a little fish and brown rice.  Snack on fresh fruit, veggies or a small amount of dried fruit and raw nuts.  If you can’t motivate yourself to make your own meals, go to your local natural food store and get it there.

4) Take a decent length walk, bike ride or swim.  Gauge what you can so normally say, 20, 30 or 45 minutes and cut that down by one quarter and do one of the following. Find a spot to rest and stretch out a little on some grass in the shade (if it’s hot) or sun (if it’s on the cooler side).  Stop and just sit on a bench and look at a beautiful view or close your eyes and breathe quietly and evenly for 5 minutes.  Try to relax and really focus on completely exhaling as much as possible.  This will naturally cause you to breath in more oxygen and should be relaxing.

5) Go to bed early.  Put your water next to the bed.  Straighten up your covers and plump up your pillows. Open your window to let in fresh air.  Make sure you’re comfortable and warm or cool enough.  Get a few magazines or a book that you want to read or a note pad to write down your feelings and what you want to do the following day, and maybe things the rest of the week.  Write until you’re tired and then put the note pad aside.  Try not to use the television.  Put on a gentle CD that is relaxing or some repetitive nature sounds.  Close your eyes and practice just observing your breathing and remind yourself that you are in the process of being at peace with the gentle rhythm of life.

  1. Find a way

Don’t believe those who tell you that it can’t be done. Refuse to be stopped by those who say it’s too late, or not practical, or too early, or not workable.

Listen carefully and thoughtfully to their advice, and then find a way. Look realistically at the challenges, and then begin working through them.

What may appear to be an unyielding obstacle when you’re standing still, will begin to give way when you start moving forward. Focus not on what is pushing against you, but focus instead on the purpose that is pushing you to get it done.

Remind yourself again and again of why you must. Hold your head high and keep your eyes on the goal.

Conditions will change, and so can you. Some routes will be blocked, and you have the flexibility to discover alternate ways to get it done.
Decide that you will accomplish what you have chosen to accomplish. Know that there is a way, and step by step, you will find it.
