You might be one of the people who cope with constant pain, or you might know someone who has constant pain? In any case there is a plethora of information and advice, which can actually add to the problem by causing information overload.

One of the most typical types of advice you’ll find is to keep a journal and log of your pain and how you’re feeling. You probably would think I like this idea but I actually don’t. At least not in the short term. The reason why is when you’re in pain and you are desperate to feel better fast, you need an immediate way to alleviate your pain, not a long drawn out plan to see if you can search for patterns and analyze your pain cycle!  That causes me to want to freak out!
The strongest pain medicine I take for my arthritis and joint pain is Ibuprofen.  I also supplement with many nutritional supplements, very costly and the jury is still out.  I do not use any narcotic or addictive medications, as I know it’s the pathway to a whole other problem and I don’t want to go there! Having to pull back on activities and exercise so as not to increase pain is frustrating because it’s normally one of the best ways to decrease stress.
